* Federal Direct Loans are normally processed only for tuition charges. As a graduate student, you may be eligible for up to $20,500 in a Federal Direct Loan per academic year. If you would like to request additional or the maximum loan funds, please indicate below in the comment section.

**NEW** Effective July 1, 2026, students enrolled less than full-time will have their loans prorated in direct proportion to the percent of full-time status the student is enrolled.

• Legacy Provision: Returning WU borrowers with a federal loan (Unsubsidized or Grad PLUS) disbursed before July 1, 2026 for their current degree program may continue to borrow Grad PLUS Loans under the current loan limits for 2 academic years beyond July 1, 2026 or the remainder of their program, whichever is less.
